A woman testifies that Barron Trump "helped save" her life in a U.K. assault trial.

Barron Trump watches as his father, U.S. President Donald Trump, attends an indoor Presidential Inauguration parade event at Capital One Arena, Jan. 20, 2025, in Washington.

U.S.  According to a transcript that was released during a trial, President Donald Trump's son Barron called the police in London, United Kingdom, last year to report an alleged assault of a woman that he said he had witnessed "getting beat up." The Snaresbrook Court Crown in London heard on Wednesday that Trump, 19, said he saw a man repeatedly punch a woman while they were on a FaceTime video call. The woman's identity has not been disclosed. According to The Guardian, Matvei Rumiantsev, 22, is currently facing charges of assault and two counts of rape. Rumiantsev has denied the allegations and testified in court that he became enraged when he said the woman called Trump a "sweetheart."

Trump spoke to emergency services about the alleged assault, according to a transcript of an emergency call released on Thursday by the Crown Prosecution Service.

In a transcript that prosecutors have made public, Trump said, "I'm calling from the U.S., I just got a call from a girl, you know, she's getting beat up." He went on to say, "This was happening about eight minutes ago."

I recently discovered how to call someone. It is truly an urgent matter. Trump responded, "Uh, I got a call from her with a guy beating her up," when the operator inquired about his experience witnessing the alleged assault. The operator asked, "How are you familiar with her?" “I don't think these particulars are important; she is being beaten, but that's fine; additionally, I met her through social media. I don’t think that matters,” he said.

The operator asked Trump to “stop being rude” and “actually answer my questions.”
The operator stated, "You will answer my questions clearly and precisely if you want to help the person." Trump said, "Sorry for being rude," after telling the operator that he did not know the man who was allegedly assaulting the woman. According to the Belfast Telegraph, police in London investigating the allegations sent a reply to the court via email in which they requested a witness statement from Trump. On January 18, 2017, Trump said that he FaceTimed the woman and "didn't expect her to pick up due to the time difference." The phone was answered. The person who answered was a man with dark hair and no shirt. In his statement to the police on May 2, he said, "This view lasted maybe one second... then the view flipped to the victim." Trump stated, "I made two of my friends call the Met Police in the United Kingdom, even though they are in the United States." According to the evidence, I do not have any. The victim, whom I am very close to, told me that this person had been causing her problems for a long time. Rumiantsev told the court that he discussed Trump with the woman the evening of the alleged assault.
She has just begun showing me the conversations she has had with him. He stated, "I tried to explain to her that I was upset by her conversation with Barron Trump." The woman told the court that Trump's call to the police saved her from being killed by Rumiantsev. He assisted in saving my life. According to the transcript of the court, she stated, "That call was like a sign from God at that moment."
